As far as you can tell, you’ve done everything right. You wrote a new blog post. It’s lengthy, it’s authoritative, it’s well-written and proofread. You’ve included a bunch of links to authoritative sources. You’ve included compelling images. It’s all set for publication, with a catchy title and well-formulated meta data.
You hit that “publish” button and walk away, secure in the knowledge that you did a good job. This post should be a hit. And yet, when you check the next day, you can’t find the post. What’s going on?Refresh Your Local Cache
Social Media Isn’t Maximized – Your blog should be at the heart of your social media strategy. Each new blog post should be shared with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, and Pinterest. The response is split 50-50. There isn’t a resounding ’YES go for it’ that you were; expecting. You keep collecting all these responses for 2-3 weeks. You lose your initial motivation. Your idea and mojo disintegrates.
The simplest possible issue, albeit a rare cause for this problem, is simply that your local cached version of your own website doesn’t have the new post. You visit your homepage, but your cache hasn’t expired, so your browser doesn’t check to see if the page has changed. Your new post is live, but you can’t see it.
The solution to this is as simple as the problem is rare. Simply force a refresh of the page that refreshes the cache. On some browsers this just means hitting F5, or hitting ctrl+F5 or shift+F5. Typically, though, this won’t be the problem; modern caches are good at checking for incremental changes.Check Your Drafts
One of the more common reasons why you might not be able to find your post is that you “published” it as a saved draft rather than a published, live piece. If you’re used to saving posts as drafts and publishing them later, or saving them as drafts with a publication date in the future, this could be your problem.
Go into your blog CMS and look for your post. What is the post status? It should be published or live, if you want the post to be visible. If the post status is something like “saved as draft” or “scheduled”, your post isn’t live and published.
I’ve had this issue once or twice when scheduling a post in the future, accidentally setting the month one too high, or even setting the year incorrectly. A post I thought was going to go up the next day actually was scheduled to go up 366 days from now.
Luckily, this is a very easy problem to solve. Simply change the publication date, or even click the “publish now” button instead of letting it publish on a schedule. Sure, it might throw off the carefully calculated timing you set up for your post publication, but it’s better to publish a post a few hours or a day late than to miss an editorial content slot entirely.Why Your Blog Isn&rsquo T Getting More Attention Likely
If your post is labeled as published, and you can view it on your own website, but it doesn’t show up in Google’s search, that’s when you might have more insidious issues. Let’s look at those next.How Google Finds New Content
If you want to know why your site might not be visible in Google search, one of the first things you should learn is how Google finds new content. They actually have several different mechanisms in play looking for new content, either in the form of new blog posts on an existing website or in the form of a new website entirely.
Here are the various ways Google uses to find new content. Also, note that when I say “Google” I’m really just using it as shorthand for any search engine. Other search engines work in much the same way, though they may have less power, fewer avenues, and a slower indexation speed, depending.
*Google has search “spiders”, which are simple bot scripts that crawl the internet. They are set loose on a page and index that page, then follow each link on the page. At each destination, they compare the existing version in the Google index with what they see on the page, and index any changes. If the link leads to a page Google hasn’t seen before, that page will be indexed.
*Google will check various properties they own for new links. For example, if you’re using Google ads and you submit an ad that links to a page Google hasn’t seen before, Google will crawl and index that page.
*Google will check submitted site maps in their webmaster tools suite. When you build a sitemap, you’re building a complete list of all of the pages on your site. Giving this to Google means Google has an easy list of every page on your site. When you update that site map, Google will notice and will check the new pages.
*Google keeps an eye on social media. There’s no official link between social networks and Google, not since the Twitter firehose debacle, but Google still crawls and indexes selections of social media, which shows them new content.
Anything that makes it difficult or impossible for Google to find a piece of content is a roadblock that can prevent your articles from showing up in the Google search index. Here are some of the more common causes.Is Your Site Brand New?
If your site is brand new, Google will be indexing it at a slower pace before they add it to their main search index. They do this for a few reasons. First, they want to prevent pages from being indexed as good and then being edited to be malicious. They monitor pages for a short time to see if they’re changing frequently. It doesn’t do anyone any good if Google indexes a page that then changes completely before it even has time to circulate.
If it has been more than a few days since your site should have been indexed, it’s possible that it simply hasn’t been given any attention. You can take steps using Google services to try to “force” your site to be indexed. Add your site as a new property in Google webmaster tools and Google analytics. Submit a sitemap to Google manually. These should be adequate to tell Google “hey, I have a page here for you to look at.”Why Your Blog Isn&rsquo T Getting More Attention MoneyAre You Blocking Robots?
A common technique for building a new website is to upload some of it online to test. However, since you don’t want Google indexing half-baked pages and issuing penalties before you’re even up and running, it’s not uncommon to block all robots from viewing your page until you’re ready for it to go live.
The problem here is if you haven’t removed these robot-blocking directives from your site before going live for real. If you’re still blocking robots, it doesn’t matter how many times you submit a sitemap, you’re telling Google to eff off.
There are two places where you can find robots directives. The first is a generalized robots.txt file in your root directory for your website. This file is a basic text file and tells robots what to do on your site. Typically, this is used to block indexing of system pages, like the admin login page, or landing pages you’re split testing and don’t want indexed.
Check to see if you have a robots.txt file, and if so, if there’s anything in it. Look for any of the Google user-agents and whether or not you’ve disallowed them. You can read more about that here.
The other place you can find robots directives is in the meta data of your pages themselves. A line of code that looks like “<meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, nofollow”>” will be blocking robots from your page. You’ll need to remove this line for your page to be visible. Again, more on this here.Other Indexation Issues
If your content just isn’t indexed, you can look for other fringe issues that might be causing a problem.
*Is your web host down? Low quality hosts without redundancy or protection can be taken down by surges in traffic or by a DDoS attack, and your content won’t index or display if the host is down.
*Does your site use scripts or code that is somehow malformed? If code is causing rendering issues, redirects are breaking, or other issues are popping up, Google will choose not to index you until you get that all sorted out.
*Does your site include copyright or trademark violations? If so, Google might be complying with a DMCA to remove your content, or they may be penalizing you for copied content.
These issues typically affect indexation more than ranking; if you are indexed but don’t rank, that’s another problem to discuss.Are You Just Not Ranking?Why Your Blog Isn&rsquo T Getting More Attention Getter
Another common problem is the misconception that indexation means that you’re going to show up in any preferential position in the Google search index. Just because you’re in the database doesn’t mean you’re going to float to the top, right?
To check to make sure your content is indexed, but isn’t ranking, do a site search. Go to Google and type in “site:yourdomain.com” followed by the title of the blog post you’re looking for. For example, the post you’re reading right now would be “site:blogpros.com Why Aren’t My Blog Posts Showing Up In Google?”
Look for your content in the search results. If it’s not there, you’ll see a search results page with your search “did not match any documents”. To make sure your site as a whole is indexed and it’s just that post that’s not there, do a blank site search for your domain and see what pops up. If it’s “nothing”, then your site isn’t indexed. Incidentally, this can show you if you have issues with pages being indexed when you don’t want them to be. If you see system pages you don’t want indexed, make sure to add a robots directive to those pages.
If your content is indexed properly and shows up in the site search, your issue is not with your indexation, but with your ranking. That’s an entirely different subject.Do You Have Any Penalties?
If your site isn’t ranking, even though it’s indexed and you believe the content is fine, you might be operating under a Google search penalty. These can be tricky to identify. The easiest way to identify them is to visit your Google search console and look to see if there are any manual actions in place.
Manual actions typically mean there’s some issue with your page. These can include issues with redirects and cloaked links, sites with hidden or cloaked text and keyword spam, pages with thin content, and so on. You can read a full list of penalties and the solutions to them here.Encouraging Indexation
If, as it so often turns out, the issue is simply time, there’s not much you can do about it.
That said, you can take some steps to encourage indexation for your new content.
*Always double-check whether or not spiders can access your site.
*Keep an eye on your search console and deal with any penalties as soon as possible.
*Make sure you’ve submitted a sitemap to Google, preferably an XML sitemap, and that you keep it up to date immediately upon publishing a new post. Many sitemap plugins will do this automatically.
*Use Google analytics. I know there are other analytics suites out there, but using GA helps Google identify when new content is created.
*Link to your site and your new content from social media. There’s no guarantee of discovery, but the more times your link shows up on social media, the more likely it is.
And so on. Making sure your content is indexed properly is step one of running a good website. It’s a fundamental you need to fully understand before you can focus on ranking properly.

Whisk flour into melted butter to create a light roux (paste). Slowly whisk milk into the roux, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Now that I can no longer get commodity (government cheese) cheese I have had no success in making baked mac n cheese as the final produce always curdles. I often make homemade “mac’n cheese”, but was frustrated with the graininess and finally did a search to see if there were any solutions out there besides using a higher fat milk (not skim with a roux). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. In a medium pot over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and cook until golden and smells nutty, about 1 minute. Slowly add milk while whisking.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to cook your pasta all the way, even to the usually perfect al dente stage. If you do this, the hot cheese sauce will continue to cook it and you’ll end up with mushy slop. Cook the pasta for one or two minutes shy of the recommended ’al dente’ timing on your package (different pasta shapes have different cooking times, so always check), then immediately drain and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking.
Bonus tip: While you can use any pasta shape you like, all variety of tubes and shells, and anything else with plenty of nooks and crannies will best hold the sauce. Once the roux is at the right stage, you’ll whisk in warm milk to make the bechamel. Warm is the key word here—cold milk will make the roux seize and the sauce lumpy. Start warming your milk before you even begin the roux, and bring it just to a simmer.
Then, when the roux is ready, whisk in the warm milk fairly fast—going too slow also promotes lumps—but not all of it at once. This isn’t exactly a problem to be fixed as of yet. But rather information research. I’ve read several viewer comments &/or articles from other sites about the ongoing security issues if one uses Adobe Flash. But when I play videos on websites or youtube videos, I have to activate the adobe flash player (an option I opted for in the add-ons). I keep it updated but am wondering if there is an alternative program that Firefox will support on my Mac using El Capitan. I’m not computer savvy enough to understand what it means that some favorite website have already shifted to HTML5 videos or alternative technologies (not exact quote). Are there any suggestions? Or am I not asking the right question?

I had the same problem, updating Flash in OS X 10.11.6 (El Capitan), and the solutions posted here didn’t work, including the accepted solution from May 2016 pointing to ’distribution3.html’ at Adobe, which currently (Nov 2016) redirects to a new page providing only the web installer.
There are several reasons why you may want to uninstall Flash Player from Mac. It could be that you had an unsuccessful or corrupt installation of Flash Player that is not working. Or maybe you just want to remove a known installation of Flash Player from your Mac because it is a security concern, or is just no longer required. First of all, check to see which version of Flash is installed, if any. If Flash Player is not detected on your Mac, then there is no reason to proceed with the uninstall process.
If there was detection of Flash Player on your Mac, the information below will show you how to remove it. The process involves downloading an uninstaller program from Adobe, closing any applications that may be in use on your Mac that use Flash Player (such as web browsers, for example), and then restarting the computer. Before getting started, make sure you have the correct permissions to download files to your Mac, and save any unsaved work in your open applications.
The following information about how to uninstall Flash Player from Mac pertains only to Mac OS X 10.6 and later. Consequently, that means this information is only for Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan users. The uninstall program from Adobe referenced in this article is specific only to these Mac OS X versions. If you’re not sure which version of Mac OS X you are running, click the Apple menu, and choose About This Mac. The Mac OS X version will display in the About This Mac dialog.Download and Run the Uninstaller Program
1. Download the official uninstaller program for Flash Player from Adobe for Mac OS 10.6 and later (Source: fpdownload.macromedia.com).
2. Click the Downloads icon in Safari (or your web browser of choice) to open the Downloads window. Double-click the uninstaller program item in the Downloads window to open it.
3. A new Flash Player dialog will open. Double-click the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller icon to run the uninstaller.
4. You may see another dialog open that warns you that “Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller” is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it? Click the Open button.
5. A new Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller dialog will open. Click the UNINSTALL button. Input an administrator password if prompted to allow this program to run.
If you had any doubts about whether the uninstaller would run if you ignored the part about closing the open applications that use Flash Player, you will see this dialog:
Once you close the conflicting applications, click the Retry button to continue. When you see Adobe Flash Player was removed from your system, click the Done button.
6. Once the uninstaller has completed, you will need to attend to some directory clean-up. This involves navigating to these specific directories on your Mac, and manually deleting them:
.../Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player.../Library/Caches/Adobe/Flash PlayerFlash Player Osx El Capitan Mac Os
7. Finally, to complete the process, restart your Mac. Once your Mac has restarted, open a web browser to verify that Flash Player is no longer installed.

Jim Keith (September 21, 1949 – September 7, 1999) was an American author best known for the books ’Black Helicopters Over America’ and ’The Octopus’, co-written with Kenn Thomas, which details conspiracy theories around the death of reporter Danny Casolaro and NSA employee Alan Standorf.[1] The book is based on the notes of Danny Casolaro, who reportedly killed himself, although Keith and Thomas examine the case for foul play in their book.
Keith authored popular books on conspiracy topics, including Mind Control/World Control, Black Helicopters I and II, OK Bomb, Saucers of the Illuminati, Casebook on Alternative 3, Casebook on the Men In Black and many others and his views are considered unapologetically controversial.[2]
One of the underlying themes of Keith’s works is that the UFO phenomenon is, in fact, of entirely earthly origin and has its roots within a parallel program of technological development. Keith maintained a steadfast commitment to the earthly-origin theory, and he believed that there was a concerted effort to put forth the extraterrestrial hypothesis into the public consciousness.
Keith began in publishing in the literary magazine scene of science-fiction fandom in the early 1960s. He published and edited many magazines over the years, including several semi-professional publications, particularly: Why?, Skyline: Klamath Falls and Dharma Combat: The Magazine of Spirituality, Reality and Other Conspiracies.[3] Keith was also the author of numerous erotic novels, publishing several in the early nineties with Masquerade Books. His nonfiction books have been translated into several languages.

In 1970, after publishing an article on Dianetics in his sci-fi fanzine Untitled (co-edited with Jerry E. Smith and Larry Neilson) Keith became fascinated with Scientology. He later worked on the staff of local Scientology Missions in Riverside, California and Reno, Nevada. In the early 1990s he left Scientology.
In September 1999, Jim Keith fell from a stage and broke his knee at the 1999 Burning Man Arts Festival held from August 30 - September 7 at the Black Rock Desert in Nevada about 120 miles north of his hometown of Reno. On September 7, he entered the Washoe Medical hospital for knee surgery and died in the Intensive Care Unit shortly after surgery was completed when a blood clot released and entered his lung. The coroner’s report listed cause of death as ’blunt force trauma.’ Cryptically, Keith stated just before being put under anaesthetic, ’I have this feeling that if they put me under I’m not coming back’. On most days, you will find me sitting in front of my laptop typing away and trying to complete my work. My iPhone will be right beside me; sometimes I get a notification for an Instagram DM (Direct Message), but I don’t like the hassle of reaching for my phone. If only Mac allowing you to DM on Instagram!
While there is an Instagram app for Windows 10 users, there isn’t one for Mac yet. But fear not, we can use third-party apps. In this article, I’m going to show you two methods for Instagram DM on your Mac.

IG:dm is an application designed primarily for using Instagram DM on your Mac. It is limited mainly to the DM function. Other features include being able to view users who are not following you back.
Note: This is for those of you who only want to use the Instagram DM function from your Mac. If you want to upload photos or view other users’ posts, skip this and proceed to Method 2.
Back in 2010, Instagram was launched with the aim of creating a whole new world of Photos and Videos. But with the ever changing Instant messaging environment Instagram couldn’t resist itself from adding tons of new features, DM or Direct Message being the one. After attempting to delete the app as well as the app cache and reinstalling on both phones the feature is still inoperative. I also agree with many other Instagram users that the feed is very annoying that I’ll see posts I’ve seen already, or posts from several days ago. IGdm 3.0.0 for Mac is available as a free download on our application library. The software lies within Communication Tools, more precisely Texting & Video calls. This free software for Mac OS X was originally developed by Ifedapo.A. The latest setup package occupies 63.7 MB on disk. Use Direct Message for Instagram app Direct Message for Instagram is available on the Mac App Store and it allows you to DM on Instagram on your PC. Besides sending messages, you can also view disappearing photos and videos. All you need is to install the app and start sending messages instantly. Select any active or inactive profile to Instagram DM on Mac or Windows. IMG SRC: instiwitty. Third-party applications: When you find above two ways irrelevant to what you’re able to do, you may opt for a third-party app that lets you Instagram DM on Windows and Mac. You can download and install IG:dm, which is a free and open source app that continues your Instagram direct messages from your phone to your machine.
Step 1: Download IG:dm
To download IG:dm, simply go to its official website and download the Mac version.
Step 2: Launch and Verify IG:dm
After launching IG:dm and logging in, you will be prompted for a code that can be retrieved from your email. Simply log into the email connected to your Instagram account and enter the code.
You will be directed to the IG:dm interface. Simply type out the Instagram handle of whoever you wish to DM and chat away! You can even upload a picture from your Mac or send emojis.
Note that you will not be able to view the Instagram posts of other users or post your own photos. This app is only for DM purposes.Method 2: Flume
Flume works one your Mac like Instagram does on your phone. You can use the Explore page, search for users, and more. It’s available in over 25 languages. However, only the Pro version allows you to upload a photo directly from your Mac or add multiple accounts. If you want only to use the DM function, just use the free version. You can either get this app from the Flume website or subscribe to it on Setapp.Apps On Mac For Instagram Dms Desktop
Step 1: Launch the Flume app.
It’s not very difficult to navigate Flume, but let me walk through it anyway. After opening the app, you can move your cursor over the top to resize the window or change the view of your posts from a single column to a 3×3 grid.
When you move your cursor to the bottom, you can access functions like uploading a picture, going to the Explore page, and viewing your starred posts (only the Pro version allows you to upload photos and add multiple accounts).
Step 2: Click on DM Function.
To use the DM function, click on the icon at the bottom that looks like a paper airplane.
Step 3: Enter the user’s Instagram handle.
You will see a search bar at the top. All you need to do is search for the user that you want to DM and key in their Instagram handle. For example, if I want to DM Instagram to suggest an idea for a new function, I would type ‘Instagram’ in the search bar.
All that’s left is to type your message and hit Enter. You can even send emojis and upload photos (located on the left of the chatbox) just like on your iPhone.
